Highlights of this program with Ram Gupta, the Executive Vice President of PeopleSoft Products and Technology, include the role of corporate culture in mergers, and how to reach out to all your constituencies (employees, customers, analysts and shareholders).

Ram Gupta explains that the one hundred days before mergers and acquisitions present you with a critical "make or break" opportunity. This initial hundred days is your one chance to ask the hard questions, and verify why you are pursuing the merger in the first place. The next one hundred days post-merger must be focused on execution: defining and communicating a road map for the newly formed company. This post-merger period is the time to make the cold, tough calls about people and about the structure of the organization. As you work to meet expectations and validate the success metrics you established early on, you progress to the final phase in which you benefit from the synergies you've created, and generate entirely new opportunities.

Gupta previously held positions with WebMD Corp, Silicon Graphics, and IBM. He holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Gupta also holds several US patents.
