STEPS FOR SUCCESSFUL TRAINING
1. Share the “Everyday Heroes” video with your staff members through housewide training sessions and in New Employee Orientation. Many hospitals have shared the film during National Nurse’s Week or National Hospital Week (May each year).

2. Read aloud a few letters from patients that you have received complimenting the staff for the care they provided. Tell staff how much you appreciate the heroic things they do everyday in caring for your patients.

3. The Leader’s Guide will provide you with great ideas on how to conduct training sessions. “Everyday Heroes” is also a great film to share at employee meetings, board meetings, planning retreats, and community meetings. Many hospitals are sharing the film along with information about their hospital at community meetings like Lion’s Club, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce meetings, etc. to remind the community about the heroes who work in healthcare. This provides a great forum for sharing letters that your hospital has received from various patients that compliment the heroes who cared for them while they were in your hospital.
