Managing your time becomes easier when you're able to delegate. But for many this isn't possible. As we ask for more from both managers and non-managers alike, what time management skills do they need to maximize the opportunities that each working day presents?

Tight deadlines, the frantic pace of modern work and the responsibility all individuals have to their teammates and colleagues, means that making time work for you is a key life skill.

The Three Key Elements
The program focuses on three essential elements of time management:

  • Prioritizing and Planning
  • Dealing with People
  • Working Procedures
As the drama unfolds we see some of the classic problems that crop up in a busy office, and how they can reduce individual and team productivity if they're not dealt with properly. We see three typical employees: Carl is creative but badly organized; Tina is so organized she spends as much time rescheduling her personal organizer as she does working; Bruce has learned to be organized, but is let down by Carl and Tina.

As they relive the past few days at work, it becomes obvious that planning and prioritizing are necessary for all their tasks (large and small, even minor interruptions like unplanned phone calls having to be dealt with). Learning to be assertive and saying `no' are vital skills.

Results In Practice
`Making Time' helps focus people's attention on making the most of their time - not just to make the business more efficient, but to reduce the stresses and strains of work life which we take home at night. It shows the problems and their solutions in a practical, down-to-earth way that will send everyone back to their desks determined to make every second count!
